Teacher & Family Advocate
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher/Family Advocate (FA) to lead a preschool classroom in Oroville, WA serving children ages 3–5 in a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment where they can grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically. This role includes in class support staff and requires creating engaging lesson plans aligned with our provided curriculum, while also partnering closely with families through monthly home visits to offer educational support and resources. Key responsibilities of this position are:
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood best practices.
- Support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through play-based and structured learning activities.
- Observe, assess, and document children's development progress.
- Use positive guidance and behavior management strategies.
- Maintain organized, engaging learning centers and classroom materials.
- Conduct monthly home visits with enrolled families to provide educational support and strengthen the home-school connection.
- Collaborate with families to set developmentally appropriate goals for their child.
- Provide parents/guardians with tools, resources, and strategies to support learning at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of home visits and family interactions.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to support children and families.
Education and Experience:
- AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field for qualified hire, or enrolled in ECE program as a provisional hire
- Valid WA State Driver’s License
- Bilingual/Spanish, preferred
Details:
- Full-time 40hr per week
- 43 Weeks per year (one week off at spring break and two at winter break, and some weeks in the summer)
- Wage $22.66 per hour for qualified applicant
